A bellboy from the Japanese soap series “Hotel” once said he could tell the character of a person by his suitcase. After travelling for more 30 years, I could more or less make out the characters of people based on the style, size and appearance of their suitcase.
As a traveller, I do not wish to see the proliferation of American culture on the streets of Cuba but I know it is inevitable. The authentic Cuban style will eventually fade out.
