Malaysia “Tokyo International University Alumni Association” is established.
Dato’Sri Lee Ee Hoe, JP to lead the alumni chapter
KUALA LUMPUR, Feb.11 – The “Tokyo International University Alumni Association (TIU- xian)” Malaysian chapter is officially established. Heading the alumni association in Malaysia are Dato’Sri Lee Ee Hoe, JP (Lee-san) and Dato’ Sri Koh Yock Heng (Koh-san) as the President and Vice-President respectively. This is the second overseas alumni chapter following the first overseas students’ alumni Singapore.
Established 52 years ago, the Tokyo International University focuses on international exchange and has an enrolment of students from all over the world. At the same time, both Lee-san and Khor-san are graduates of Tokyo International University, majoring in economics.
In the principle of giving back to his alma mater, Lee-san with the support from the Singapore Chapter established the “Tokyo International University Alumni Association” on the auspicious day of Chap Goh Meh in this year of the Rooster. The objective of setting of the alumni is to create a platform for ex-students to foster relationships and expand their networking.
A simple inauguration ceremony of the alumni was held at the Conference Room in Wisma Apple with Yohya Masaharu, the advisor of the Singapore Branch as the master of ceremony and witnessed by Yokohama Yoshio, the representative of the National Federation of Alumni Chapters who is also President of the Oita Prefecture Chapter. Also present at the ceremony were members representing the alumni associations of Singapore, Japan and Malaysia who witnessed the formation of the committee of the Malaysian Chapter alumni.
