Lost in a World of Fun and Nature

It’s been quite a while since I last visited the Lost World of Tambun in Ipoh. It is a beautiful landscaped theme park surrounded by the natural formation of limestone and green environment which gave me a very relaxed feeling.

This time I decided to try an overnight stay in their newly built Lost World Hotel. As a guest of hotel, I was entitled to a complimentary pass for the hot springs and spa at night. The hot springs and spa is also open to non- theme park visitors from 6pm to 10pm at night. The water is tapped from the natural source into the pool and it is not recycled, so that we can enjoy the hygienic hot spring with a peace of mind. We spent quite a bit of our time relaxing at the foot spa, top of the world pool, steam cave, infinity pool and so on. And before heading back to the hotel, I suggest that you don’t miss out the Saphira’s bistro that is just next to the hot spring, they provide very tasty pizza and a detox drink called “cooler” it was so good and we couldn’t stop asking for more.

After the relaxing experience at the hot springs, I could really feel the blood flowing in my body. I believed it helped to speed up my blood circulation and detoxify. Even though the hotel provides TV and free-wifi for entertainment, we chose to have a good sleep on the comfortable bed to re-charge our body for more excitement on the next day.

After waking up to the smell of fresh air in Tambun, we had our buffet style breakfast in the Garden Terrace. Then, it was a day of fun in the water theme park, amusement park, petting zoo and tiger valley. This time

we found another 2 new attractions in the park – Lost World Tin Valley and Lost World Team Building Park. The Tin Valley provides us with the historical trail of the tin mining history in Ipoh from the 19th century. We had lots of fun trying to be the “dulang washer” and we realised it was really not easy for them in the old days when they had to stand in the water and bending down the whole day.

Not only did kids enjoy the “dulang washing”, we adults also enjoyed this fun and educational activity. At 5pm the staff of Lost World will lead the guests to a traditional Malay dance at the tin mining park. And that was fun too, we danced while laughing at our haphazard steps.

The newly constructed Team Building Park will only officially start operating in March 2012. We were invited to enjoy the Zip line, which is something likeflying fox but it will zip us across the beautiful mirror pond with a 120 meter long cable, the “flying experience” was a real fun. I really hope that in my next visit we can challenge the unique high rope element that is designed to showcase the special limestone environment in the Lost World. Beside to build up self esteem and confidence, I would like to try the Wild Woosey which requires 2 teammates to lean against each other and walk on a thin wire. This activity needs trust and good communication of teammates. Rock climbing in the Lost World is also one of the famous attractions in the park. Many rock climbing lovers have tried the famous natural limestone formation in Lost World but so far only 2 Malaysian rock climbers have made it to the top, even the famous climber “spiderman” came to recce this place.

We are really exhausted after a whole day of excitement in the theme park. Before leaving the park, we decided to rejuvenate ourselves in the 3 private huts of the Crystal Spa. I chose to have a facial treatment while the others enjoyed the traditional Malay massage and aroma therapy. That was a perfect ending for our trip to the Lost World of Tambun.
