Where to go in Japan during Fall? Tottori Prefecture
Japanese autumn temperatures and humidity are usually moderate at this time of the year, leaving a pleasant climate and making it one of the more comfortable season. Although there is occasional showers, the autumn sun will peek through now and then, an ideal adventurous season for outdoor excursions.
Tottori Prefecture is home to two well-known greats of the manga world, the late Shigeru Mizuki and Gosho Aoyama. The former for his distinguished works for “GeGeGe no Kitaro” and the latter for the famed “Conan” comic series which have a attracted a world wide following especially here in Malaysia! So for this Autumn season make your way to Tottori Prefecture. Not only is the temperature just right during autumn, you are able to kill two birds with one stone by visiting the famed Mizuki Shigeru Road there you will encounter the yokai creatures come alive and be a little detective on your part by finding out the birthplace of Gosho Aoyama and a museum in his honour! Who knows you might bump into him?!
Besides the the great cartoonist, visit Himeji Castle, Tottori dunes the only one in Japan, Kurashiki in itself is a beauty awaiting to be discovered, do not miss to taste Kaiseki Crab and Nijisseiki nashi or pear where it’s a must for visiting Japanese from other regions.
Mizuki Shigeru Road
Mizuki Shigeru Road. spanning 800 meter from JR Sakaiminato Station to Honmachi Arcade, this shopping district features bronze statues of more than 150 characters from Shigeru Mizuki’s masterpiece, GeGeGe no Kitaro which depicts the world of supernatural monsters known as Yokai!
Try out a hair cut by the characters in GeGeGe no Kitaro!
You will come across many sculpture of GeGeGe no Kitaro ghouls.
Sometimes the characters comes alive and walks the street, take this opportunity to take a picture with them!
Even the cab has the eye！

Tottori Nijisseiki Pear Museum
A must visit, it tells the story of the delicious Tottori pear and its history.
There are different type of local pears.

Tottori Sand Dunes are the largest sand dunes in
Japan. It spans roughly 16 kilometers and are up to 2 kilometers wide. The small hill known as Umanose (‘the horse’s back’) offers a picturesque panorama of the ocean.
Walk along the many preserved shops of Kurashiki old street and residences, where the Kurashiki rivers flow through and lined with willow tress.
For seafood lovers, Kaiseki crab is what you must experience in Tottori.
