Spicy Sichuan has something furry and it’s BLACK and WHITE found in Chengdu!
Mention Sichuan, the famed red hot spicy pot of different type of cuisine comes to mind. Spicy Sichuan taufu or tongue numbing “mala” mien or Sichuan spicy noodle and many more. We being Malaysians love all things spicy.
But another famous “star” also resides in Sichuan, located not far away from the capital city of Chengdu. Panda bears of course! Or literally called Bear Cats – Huang Mao. Now yes, yes … here in Malaysia we have Panda bears too in our Zoo.
But of course what more can be rewarding than to visit the base where all the love and utmost care in ensuring the Giant Panda’s are not extinct? Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding is a state-of-the-art Panda Wonderland!
There are currently less than 2000 Pandas scattered across the province of Sichuan, Shaanxi and Gansu. Of which 70% of the Pandas are found here.
You can’t help but to sigh and go “aahhhh” or “ooohhh”, coming face to face with these playful creatures. They are just too adorable! And if you are lucky to visit at the time when there is Panda cubs, that’s it – You are “Pandadized” for life! You have effectively sold your soul to the Pandas …… or something to that effect.
Equipped with international facilities, well-trained guides both in chinese and english, not to mention the extensive research and international collaboration has enabled the base to carve out a name for itself.
The park itself is very huge, lined with bamboo trees and a long walk to the enclosures. It also houses 20 over species which includes the furry red pandas that roams freely. Apple Vacations has introduced an ideal itinerary to Chengdu which includes visit to Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding and an electric car which will bring its customers around the base.
