Apple Motivation Camp 2017 – DAY 2
The future is the younger generations ….
Early morning in quiet Melaka, one can hear the laughter of Apple-nian ringing through as everyone follow the dance steps of our superstars Lawrence san and vivacious Tavia. At 7.30 am with pumped up energy, dancing to the beat is a great start for Day 2 challenges.
The final challenge for today’s task by the organizers is using a business model as the final game challenge. Building paper planes within a given time frame, not only is there limited time, the 14 teams have to compete to see who is able to sell the most planes to the customer. Sounds easy? There’s a catch …. The planes are divided to two types of models, it has to be flight worthy of a certain distance and meet specifications. If all these are not met, it will be rejected and the best part is the clock ticks. Time waits for no man as they say. Naturally the air is charged with much emotions, from anxiousness, to seriousness, to focus ….. there is much excitement.
There are three stages, the first where no teams made it, the second many teams are able to produce but many models are rejected with many having a field time controlling cost. At last the third time’s the charm as they say, it brings about 90% success ranging from different teams. But through this exercise there is determination, none gave up so easily and awesome team work!
At the same time, before we ended Apple Motivation Camp, the Gen-Y are given the opportunity to take the microphone and sharing their experience on what they learned during this two days.
Finally the winners are declared, We would like to congratulate Team 7 on coming out tops! Followed by the runner-up and third place respectively by Team 8 and Team 9. Those who did not achieve top three did also receive consolation prizes. The achievements are important not only due to winning the top place, but most importantly the process in teamwork and making it happen.
When Apple-nian visit Melaka, of course we have to make a stop at Impressions Melaka construction site, reaching 50% completion. What more is that by April next year it will be completed and in time for its first ever show. For more information please LIKE IMPRESSIONS MELAKA
