Shandong Province has been a birthplace of ancient Chinese religion literature of the greats such as Confucius born in Qufu, Shandong. Playing an important role in spurring religion such as Taoism, Buddhism and of course Confusionism which is practiced till date. Mountain Tai (Taishan)is one of the most revered mountain of Taoism is still very much preserved till this day and noted as the longest continuous place of worship is found here in Sandong, over 3,000 years of age and still counting.
Shandong or to some Shantung, literally translates to east of mountains which in landscape wise is nestled in the eastern side of China facing the Yellow Sea. Not only does she plays the role as the centre of these three main religion in China which has spread regionally in Asia, she has established herself as an economic centre due her location in ancient times as well as in modern north–south and east–west trading route.
On the provinces modern achievements, it is noted as the 3rd wealthiest province in China from late 19th century onward, when in the People’s Republic of China and one is in the 3rd place it is still of large scale comparatively to many smaller nations. Hence it is not lacking be it in its growth of the residents wealth, and certainly the vista’s.
