Have you ever noticed the way a child’s face lights up into a big smile, once they spot a single stalk of SUNFLOWER? Well it can’t be helped, you will smile together. Especially when it blooms with its yellow petals unfurl!
If you have visited the beauty of Shibazakura flowers in spring, Furano Lavender Fields in summer then surely you must stay back for the Sunflower season in autumn. As if you are walking through a time travel of a myriad of floral colours and at the end of the walk the bright golden yellow Sunflower fields of Hokuryu Sunflower Village greets you. Now imagine the undulated joy once that child spot a whole field of sunflowers as far as the eyes can see? I think you would have to capture the moment by being physically there!
Every year from mid July to mid August, the Hokuryu-cho Himawari Matsuri or Sunflower Festival will take place. There are a list of activities which will take place for the duration the celebration of this festival. Such as Sunflower maze, World Sunflower, Sightseeing Car “Sunflower”, Bicycle Rental, Duck Ranch, Bon Dance, Local Drum Concert, local Songs and Ballads show, YOSAKOI and the spectacular Sunflower Fireworks Display will be held.
