Where to go in Japan during Fall? ? Central Japan
For some, central Japan region might not necessarily be the first choice to travel to when foreigners think of Japan, but in actual fact it has one of the most stunning views comparatively across the country.
Hida Takayama is rich in natural landscapes, dating as far back as the Jomon era. Hida Takayama is also well known as the seat of an Edo period shogunate and the heart of bustling city then. Although today it is not the main centre for the region’s business hence not as busy, but it’s street are well preserved as back in the days of the Edo shogunate era. Here you can visit Takayama Jinya the administrative offices of the Tokugawa Shogunate, the Japanese garden, the ancient city itself, winding through trails of old legends, visit each preserved ancient house, its wineries, cafes and shops.
One of the main attraction is Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route, capable of allowing several vehicles transfer at one time, slowly climbing all the way to the lake to enjoy the natural beauty of the route of the Alps, the highest point of the route is when it comes to a stop at Murodo Station with an altitude of 2450 meters!
Of course this route is the best and besides would be the Shirakawa village! Well known for its winter blizzard which blankets its village into a fairy tale world of white landscape, during autumn before the winter begins, its leaves gives the opposite effect. The village comes alive in burst of colors creating a picturesque scenery.
