Melaka Malaysia, 29th March, 2014 — Apple 99 Development Sdn Bhd and City Mall Sdn Bhd announced the ground breaking today for the first Courtyard branded hotel in Melaka, Malaysia. The event was proudly officiated by the Chief Minister of Melaka YAB Datuk Seri Ir. Hj Idris bin Hj Haron.

Courtyard by Marriott Melaka will have 284 rooms and is scheduled to be opened by 2017.

The brand new business hotel will be located in the heart of Melaka’s central tourism district along Jalan Tun Sri Lanang. It is poised to further boost the economy and tourism industry as well as creating employment opportunities for the local community. It will be offering an experience that strikes the perfect balance between comfort and practicality, creating an alternative for discerning yet value-conscious business and leisure travellers.

With views facing the city and Straits of Melaka, there will be three types of well-appointed guestrooms in this 24-storey hotel, alongside an exclusive Executive Floor. All guestrooms will be dominated by a spacious room, plush beddings and high-tech amenities.

For added convenience, the Courtyard by Marriott Melaka will feature MoMo Café, a lobby lounge and bar, conference and meeting rooms, ballroom with an 800-person capacity, and a state-of-the-art gym with a spa and heated infinity swimming pool. The hotel is only four minutes’ to the famous Jonker Street and is easily reachable to the city’s key attractions, business district and main access.
