Eat-all-you-can Musang King at LE APPLE @KLCC
Endorsed by The Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture

KUALA LUMPUR, 1 August 2019 – The Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, YB Tuan Muhammad Bakhtiar Wan Chik has officiated the Soft Launch of Musang King Durian Feast organised by Le Apple Boutique Hotel @KLCC, Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur here today.

It is the first hotel in Kuala Lumpur promoting room accommodation with a buffet of Musang King Durian fresh from a durian orchard in Raub, Pahang. With this, you will be able to enjoy eating the king of fruits in front of the iconic symbol of Malaysia—Petronas Twin Tower Kuala Lumpur (KLCC).

It is worth mentioning that the Musang King will be delivered fresh and direct from Raub Pahang; an orchard that is fully owned by one of the consultants of Le Apple@KLCC, Dato’ Stanley Wong. The durians are grown without using pesticides, weed killers or artificial fertilisers. He believes that this method would prolong the life of durian trees and yield higher quality fruits.

In recent years, the fruit’s pungency has become the star of its own show. People all over the world flock to durian farms and go on tours in search of durians. Being a durian lover himself, Dato’ Stanley Wong, Consultant of Le Apple@KLCC, came up with the idea to package Musang King Durian with room accommodation—an offer to local and international tourists staying in the hotel. Now, durian lovers do not need to go all the way to the outskirt orchards, as Le Apple @KLCC is bringing them to the city center! Come, taste it and you’ll know.

The Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, YB Tuan Muhammad Bakhtiar bin Wan Chik congratulates Le Apple on the launch of this beautiful offering. “We know that durians and hotels are rarely mentioned in the same breath, as they are hardly compatible with each other, as durians have a strong and lingering smell.

“Many hotels around the world never let the king of fruits near its premises. It is surprising to know that Le apple in the middle of the Kuala Lumpur is very proud to be associated with durian.”

“This is great news for durian lovers. Malaysia is certainly well-known for this fruit and around 1700 tonnes of durian were exported yearly.”

“Instead of exporting out, we want to invite tourists to experience king of fruits here in Malaysia. In collaboration with the ministry of agriculture, we are intensifying efforts for Durio-tourism. The king of fruits smells like hell, but taste like heaven,” he added.

Dato’ Sri Koh Yock Heng (Koh San), Apple Group Managing Director said that durians are normally forbidden inside hotels, yet Le Apple @KLCC has even organised this “eat-all-you-can” buffet at the front lane of its building here in Jalan Ampang. He said the hotel is doing its bit to help promote the country’s most famous fruit via its fresh and quality Musang King buffet promotion.

“As a pioneer tour operator in Malaysia, we believe in creating new destinations and new products to meet our customers’ needs.”

“We always strive to be innovative in these aspects and work together with our business partners, thus ensuring that this project materialises and the latest offering a successful one,” Koh said.

Along with its strategic location, a 10-foot tall Musang King Durian replica is constructed in front of the hotel. It is foreseen to be a must-visit place and also one of the most Instagrammable spots in Kuala Lumpur (#musangkingleapple) together with the tallest building in Malaysia—Petronas KLCC Tower. This will give local and international tourists a unique experience that they will never forget.

The hotel is doing its bit to help promote the country’s most famous fruit via its Musang King promotion. This strategic promotion is in line with Malaysia’s ‘durian strategy’ to boost durio-tourism, and gained the recognition and support of Tourism Malaysia. The hotel hopes to drive the growth of domestic and international tourism sectors, as the nation gears towards Visit Malaysia 2020.
