The sweltering desert heat of summer in Dubai which starts from end June to September is a time where the Emirati or locals and expatriate a like begin to travel out of the country for more cooler destinations. But contrary to the rest, summer is the best time to visit Dubai. Yes it is the low season, but with it comes many perks to look forward to.

1. Catch the traditional Dhow By Dubai Creek ……….today it is known as River Zara

The creeks history dates back to 1833 where the Bani Yas Tribe, led by the Mauktoum Family who settled at the mouth of the creek due to its strategic position as natural port, abundance of fish, pearling and subsequently flourished into one of the main sea trade. Today it is still one of the busiest waterways as the creek runs through the city of Dubai where ports are being used for day to day businesses and water taxis are in abundance.

For local or foreign tourist alike, going on a cruise in the local dhow along the Dubai Creek is a must. On its peak season there are many tourist, hence one of the best time is during summer where the fairs are slightly cheaper and you do not need to jostle with the crowds. Go for an evening cruise, watch the Dubai sunset and end with a wonder traditional Arabian dinner.

2. A must visit famous landmark – Magnificent Burj Khalifa and Burj Al Arab

Coming to Dubai without visiting these amazing landmarks will not be complete. The 124th , 125th and 148th floor of Burj Khalifa. The Observation Deck which you can spend some time capturing the landscape and moments. But that is not all, for art enthusiasts there are over 1000 works of art. Or enjoy an afternoon tea at Jumeirah Hotels and Resorts – Skyview Bar located on the top floor of Burj Al Arab for two or more is a must. You will have an unparalleled view of the Palm Jumeirah and The World islands.

3. Visit world largest mall – The Dubai Mall and Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo

Get lost for a day or even two within the many shops at The Dubai Mall – Dubai’s largest mall. The mall boast of a size as huge as 200 soccer fields, housing 1,200 retails stores. It is also home to DubaiDino, a 155 million-year old dinosaur skeleton with a height of 7.6 meters and 24.4 meters long. It is not replica but the original fossil!

4. Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo

A wonder within a wonder, Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo is attached to The Dubai Mall. It is within the top five largest aquarium in the world. There are nine activities to explore underwater, such as scuba diving, cage snorkelling, shark scooter, shark encounter or feeding,patting more than 50 rays and many more.

5. Ski Dubai – the 1st and largest ever indoor ski resort in middle east

Ski Dubai is attached to the Mall of Emirates and truly one of its kind. It has an amazing 22,500 square meter which is covered with snow. Can you imagine it even has a ski slope, a snow boarding activity and a chair lift! Well these are not the only activities. Ski Dubai is also home to residents King and Gentoo penguins. Even Mariah Carey and her twins has enjoyed the chill in Dubai!

6. Dubai Dolphinarium

This year would be it’s 9th year Dubai Dolphinarium has been entertaining guests. Feeling its a too normal activity to just watch the Dolphins? Join Dolphin Planet by being a trainer for a day, you will receive a certificate at the end of the training. Who knows you might have a hidden talent – the Dolphin whisperer. Besides Dolphins, there are also the Northern and American fur seals and don’t forget to catch the exotic bird show held 3 times a day in the Dolphinarium.

7. Need for Speed – Ferrari World Abu Dhabi

Make a trip to Yas Island, a manmade island where the world first and only Ferrari World Abu Dhabi park is built. The massive red structure will get your blood racing! Home to the world’s fastest rollercoaster named Formula Rossa, experience the G-Force and velocity which you cannot find anywhere else travelling at 240km/h in just 2.4seconds! 8. Deira Gold and Spice Souk a Traditional facade of modern Dubai

Have you ever seen so much gold in one place? The Gold and Spice Souk of Dubai offers more than the eye can imagine. Wander through and bargain with the local vendors from these souks. It is said that 20% of the worlds gold passes through these markets. Tantalize your sense of smell when you walk into the Spice Souk. Buying spices is a tradition old as time, so is bargaining for the best price …. well that is the fun part!

9. Dubai Seaplane Flight

Feast your eyes to an aerial view of Dubai city …. no doubt it is a short 40 minutes ride but it is truly a memory that you would relish once back home. In the air you will be treated with the most stunning view of contrast between the Arabian dessert and the architecture/engineering feat as a whole. The seaplanes are usually Cessna 208 type of aircraft and may seat up to 9 persons. To date it is one of the must do experience in Dubai.

10. A Half Day Desert Tour or an Overnight Experience

Many people will query if there is this activity during the summer in Dubai, the fact is yes there is. The Overnight Dessert Camp will only begin in late afternoon – pick up from your hotel will normal be around 3.30pm onwards. At this time of day, the temperature would gradually cool down towards the night. It is a rather full itinerary from the moment you board the air-conditioned 4wd to the desert, experience dune bashing, falcon demonstration, most tours include belly dancing (except during the Ramadhan months), an Arabic BBQ dinner and Arabic sweet tea. Then its retiring for the night in a tent on the desert until waking at 7am with some light breakfast and back to your hotel. During summer in fact the nights are much more cooler comparing to the city itself.
