It would seem far fetch to be able to come up close with the great migration of the big five of South Africa or at most you might think that the closest is you are able to view them from a caged or enclosed “wild life” park that are dotted around South Africa. Well then let me share with you that your dreams is not far off …. you can achieve them.

BOTSWANA’S The great migration ….. Chobe National Park

Chobe National Park

The land of Africa is truly one of the vast lands which are blessed with the Big Five and the perfect ecosystem to sustain the wild birds, herds and predators.

It would seem far fetch to be able to come up close with the great migration of the big five of South Africa or at most you might think that the closest is you are able to view them from a caged or enclosed “wild life” park that are dotted around South Africa. Well then let me share with you that your dreams is not far off …. you can achieve them in their God given habitat and marvel unabashedly while you are at it! There is certainly no shame in expressing the uncontained happiness and wonder like a child once you spotted the wild animals of africa, regardless of your age factor. To be unmoved by such a sight, would truly be a sad moment indeed.

Chobe National Park is located in the northern part of Botswana, the third largest park in Botswana covering over 10,698 sq km. Summer brings about lush green plains and plenty of watering holes created by the heavy rainfall this time of the year. No doubt there are more watering holes at this time of the year causing the big game to disperse in a wider area, but it is also the calving time which also translates to more predator movement. Perhaps you might be lucky to catch some action. Witnessing first hand the brutal circle of life of the plains.

An excellent time for the birding season. Seeing a flutter of busy activities during this time of the year along the Chobe Rivers. Boasting 460 types of bird species recorded in Chobe National Park, it is truly a heaven for bird watchers and of course a playground for the ornithologists.

On the game drive at this time around the year, you will be met with lush greeneries. Spotting the big five might be a little elusive but if you are able to spot them, this is the best time of the year to be able to view them with their baby cubs or calves.
