Located in the Southern Hemisphere, naturally summer in South Africa takes place during December through February. As it does not have very distinctive four seasons, usually the seasons are observed more from its change from dry season to wet season which runs throughout the four seasons.
Summer (Mid August to end April) in Victoria Falls is generally hot to very hot and it is wet during the rainy season (Mid November to April). Average highs between 32-34°C (90-93°F) and average lows between 15-19°C (59-66°F)

Named after Queen Victoria of Britain by David Livingstone the first European to lay eyes on the falls. Known as Mosi-oa-Tunya or The Smoke That Thunders by the Tonga indigenous people, is the largest waterfall in the world and is famously known as one of the earliest UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Naturally the best time to visit is from mid-December onwards when the swell of the great Zambezi river is ready to overflow. That is when the sight of roaring water cascading downwards in an awesome display of white curtain is at its most spectacular.
Are you brave enough to take just one dip? An adrenaline rush of excitement, peppered with a little feeling of fear I might add. If for some reason your planning of visit is earlier within the dry season, when the river does not swell to its peak, perhaps you might want to consider a lifetime experience dipping into either the Devil’s pool or the Angels armchair near Livingstone island. But for those who dare to take it up, the view is beautiful. Swimming to the edge of Victoria falls and looking down 500 meters. Only licensed guides are approved to bring groups for a duration of one to two hours. Beware of the unlicensed ones who will lure visitors for less. “Caution” as they are not licensed and might be inexperienced, bringing you to spots which are highly dangerous. Always opt for the original and licensed tour guides.
Of course the ultimate is to view it by a Helicopter ride with the professionals. Once in a lifetime opportunity. From air, you are able to capture the full magnificence of the falls. I would say, go for it!
