The reason why it’s called “Shibazakura” is the shape of its flower looks like a bloom of cherry blossom(Sakura) and it grows up with covering the ground like the lawn(Shiba).
Shibazakura is a ground covering plant with pink, white, and light purple flowers. Takinoue Park in Takinoue Town has a 100,000 square meter hill area which is completely covered with beautiful shibazakura. Many visitors from all over Japan & oversea come to enjoy these breathtaking views.
