The sweltering desert heat of summer in Dubai which starts from end June to September is a time where the Emirati or locals and expatriate a like begin to travel out of the country for more cooler destinations. But contrary to the rest, summer is the best time to visit Dubai. Yes it is the low season, but with it comes many perks to look forward to.

1. Catch the traditional Dhow By Dubai Creek ……….today it is known as River Zara

The creeks history dates back to 1833 where the Bani Yas Tribe, led by the Mauktoum Family who settled at the mouth of the creek due to its strategic position as natural port, abundance of fish, pearling and subsequently flourished into one of the main sea trade. Today it is still one of the busiest waterways as the creek runs through the city of Dubai where ports are being used for day to day businesses and water taxis are in abundance.

For local or foreign tourist alike, going on a cruise in the local dhow along the Dubai Creek is a must. On its peak season there are many tourist, hence one of the best time is during summer where the fairs are slightly cheaper and you do not need to jostle with the crowds. Go for an evening cruise, watch the Dubai sunset and end with a wonder traditional Arabian dinner.

Or enjoy an afternoon tea at Jumeirah Hotels and Resorts – Skyview Bar located on the top floor of Burj Al Arab for two or more is a must. Even Mariah Carey and her twins has enjoyed the chill in Dubai!

Feast your eyes to an aerial view of Dubai city …. no doubt it is a short 40 minutes ride but it is truly a memory that you would relish once back home. In the air you will be treated with the most stunning view of contrast between the Arabian dessert and the architecture/engineering feat as a whole. The seaplanes are usually Cessna 208 type of aircraft and may seat up to 9 persons. To date it is one of the must do experience in Dubai.

10. A Half Day Desert Tour or an Overnight Experience

Last but not least enjoy Dubai’s sunset and dinner in the desert …..

Many people will query if there is this activity during the summer in Dubai, the fact is yes there is. The Overnight Dessert Camp will only begin in late afternoon – pick up from your hotel will normal be around 3.30pm onwards. At this time of day, the temperature would gradually cool down towards the night. It is a rather full itinerary from the moment you board the air-conditioned 4wd to the desert, experience dune bashing, falcon demonstration, most tours include belly dancing (except during the Ramadhan months), an Arabic BBQ dinner and Arabic sweet tea. Then its retiring for the night in a tent on the desert until waking at 7am with some light breakfast and back to your hotel. During summer in fact the nights are much more cooler comparing to the city itself.
